Schindler's Feine Confiserie in Owingen

We ordered our wedding cake here. All of our wishes and ideas were implemented in a competent and professional manner. The cake was not sweetened and with lots of fresh fruit it was a real dream. I can only recommend it

I ordered my wedding cake from Schindler's. First of all: It looked great - but nothing more. The order was a four-tier cake with alternating light and dark sponge cake, with vanilla buttercream or mocha buttercream. The whole thing should be decorated with berries and fresh flowers. We were then unable to deliver the fresh flowers as agreed and so I emailed them to ask to use marzipan flowers (if possible). These were then also on the cake. A confirmation that it works with the flowers and that they cost extra or how much didn't come. As I said, the cake looked great, but a few more berries would have been nice, the cake was pretty dry after all. After the party, we went straight to our honeymoon and all of a sudden we got calls from the pastry chef saying that he needed the scaffolding around which the cake was built back - the tone was quite unfriendly. One of our guests had taken the rack and promised that he would return it to the pastry chef in the week after the wedding. He had tried in vain to reach someone there. Suddenly an email from the confectioner said that he would not be able to deliver the next cake he had ordered if he did not get the rack back immediately (they had already tried to return everything). The mail also said that we owed € 30 because of the marzipan flowers. A price had never been mentioned before. To this day there is no invoice for this, although we transferred the money directly after our return (as I said before, there was never an announcement - verbally or in writing - how much the flowers would cost (that was only a handful ...) When the guest finally returned the rack in the shop, he was prompted to see where the € 30 went and he was hardly let go. At the time, I had already informed him by email that the money could only be paid after returning and also will. 1. As a professional confectioner, I would recommend getting a second cake stand and 2. To be generally friendly to guests and customers. We will definitely not recommend this pastry shop (neither will the guest). At this point I advise everyone against ordering something there. Quality is poor and the owners are just underground rude.

As tasty as Spetsmann in Iserlohn. A small but fine selection of cakes, homemade ice cream and pralines, and is open despite Corona. We like to promote the region. And regarding the friendliness: we never had any problems. You are greeted and said goodbye, quite normally without any extra frills. You may be looked after more at other cafés, but I don't need that. I prefer the direct manner.

We went today because they supposedly have gluten-free cakes. Our son has celiac disease. Since many people confuse celiac disease with intolerance, we always ask whether separate cutlery is used. The good woman felt attacked in her competence and said she already knew enough. However, Dear Zöllis, the gluten-free cake was lying open on the shelf next to the gluten-containing crumble cake and the same tongs are used. Only after we said our little saying about celiac disease did she quickly wash the pliers again, but took the towel off the counter to dry off. The same is probably true for the cake knives. So nothing for real allergy sufferers! The cake was otherwise good 4 stars, but celiac disease is serious business and that's why it's only 1.

Products are okay. The big disturbing factor is the very unfriendly owner! Will not go again.

Pies, coffee and ice cream were very good. The service and contact with the owners was also impeccable, and it was not our first time there. Don't know what kind of problem some here have with friendliness? Perhaps question your own behavior, because "how to call into the forest ..." - you know the saying
